Foria Awaken Arousal Oil Review
I love this product. Genuinely. It has a special place in my heart and a permanent space on my bedside table because of how much it positively changed my life. Now I know this might seem like hyperbole but hear me out.
This oil first came to my attention after I kept reading positive review after review a couple of years ago and I made it my mission to get a hold of it. However, Foria is an American brand which meant I had to wait until A. I went to America and purchased it there or B. a UK/European company imported it and then stocked it. Now this might seem slightly dramatic and like I'm leading you on a pointless story but hear me out.
Finally in 2018, a couple of UK companies started to stock it and in my determination to purchase it, I travelled to London to visit the shop and get some more info on the brand and their products and thus my love affair with Foria's began.
So what makes this oil so special? Why are Foria so amazing? (I should add that I'm in no way affiliated or sponsored by the company at this moment in time). Without spouting like a fangirl, Foria are a health and sexual wellness company who know their shit and as a result, their products work and are adored by many people with gynaecological and intimate health issues like me.
So back to this wonder oil.
Using only natural and organic botanicals, it's free of alcohol, petroleum-based ingredients, phthalates, glycerin, parabens and dyes all of what can be triggers for individuals of vulvodynia. My vulvodynia can be triggered by sugar so the absence of glycerin is brilliant. It contains 30mg of CBD, is vegan, edible and smells/tastes like mint chocolate.
Now I should say at this point that the Awaken oil is not a lube, it's an oil designed to activate arousal. I use it as part of my dilator therapy to help my vaginismus, to avoid triggering my vulvodynia and when having penetrative sex. The bottle contains 30-50 applications and I find that one spray is enough for my needs (however, the new packaging is a dropper but actually I think this will make application easier).
Once applied, I find this takes around 5 to 10 minutes to kick in. For me it's slightly warming whilst being soothing at the same time. When used in combination with my dilator therapy I find my vaginal muscles are more relaxed, making the process easier and pain free as well as minimising the pain caused if I have a vulvodynia flare up. When used penetrative sex/masturbation I find penetration easier, I don't have any soreness afterwards and that my orgasms are more intense which is always a bonus!
I have yet to find a product so versatile and so effective in helping me manage my intimate health and quite frankly, I'm okay with that. If you suffer with intimate health issues or just wanna spice up your sex life then please give this a go, you won't be disappointed.
Foria Awaken Oil is $48 (USA) or £46-£48 for 30ml.
You can check out their website here, follow them on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and/or Youtube.
For UK stockists, Foria is available via Hemp Botanics or The Drug Store.
