HighKind 5% Tranquil CBD Oil Review

Once upon a time, HighKind was known as Synergy Extracts but as the company has grown and evolved, so has their name. I was first introduced to this brand last year as a friend recommended their vape cartridges and absolutely love them so I was interested to see what their CBD oils were like.

I was given the option to try their focus, energise or tranquil CBD drops and considering I often have trouble getting to sleep, I went with the latter. All three profiles are available in a 5% (500mg), 10% (1000mg) and 20% (2000mg) strengths.

So what's the relevance of the three different options? A key element of HighKind's CBD oils is that they re-add specific terpenes back into their products which gives you the option of choosing a CBD oil that is tailored to your needs.

Terpenes? What are they?

If you smell a lemon, it will smell zesty and lemony right? Terpenes are basically the aromatic molecules that are found in the essential oils of plants. Different terpenes have different effects, for example: the terpene limonene smells citrusy and has been shown to be anti-inflammatory and have a calming effect (Medical News Today, 2020).

So bearing that in mind, you can probably guess what effect HighKind's tranquil oil is supposed to have. The first thing I noticed is that this oil has a really subtle lavender taste which automatically got me into a calming mindset and helped me to relax, perfect for bedtime! I found that taking this half an hour before I intended to go to sleep was the perfect time for it to kick in and I would take a dose of 20 drops which works out at approximately 25mg of CBD. In addition to helping me fall asleep, I found that I also woke up feeling more rested.

In terms of my endometriosis, a better night's sleep always tends to reduce the severity of my flares and I did find that I had less tension in my lower back and shoulders throughout the day as well. My only complaint was that if the bottle wasn't stored upright it leaked but in the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal.

Overall I did like this oil and the fact that it is definitely an all rounder: great for those new to CBD all the way to those who want their CBD to be tailored to their needs.

HighKind's 5% Tranquil (as well as Focus and Energise) Oral CBD Drops are £27.99 for 30ml.
