YES OB Plant-Oil Based Natural Lubricant Review

Having angry and volatile reproductive organs means that I gotta treat them with extra tender loving care. People always make a big deal with about what you put into your body so it makes sense to extend that down to my vagina. Only the best for her majesty and all that.

So in addition to having endometriosis, I was diagnosed with vaginismus and vulvodynia in 2019. I won't go into detail about that in this post but it was through my gynaecologist that I was introduced the the idea of using organic lubricants as part of my dilator therapy.

Broadly speaking, the 'organic' lube market isn't particularly huge. I say organic in quote marks because there's a fair few brands out there that state they are but they're not. YES lubricants are proudly certified organic by the Soil Association which reinforces that their formulas are as pure as can be.

Ingredients wise, YES OB contains cocao butter, shea butter, sweet almond oil, sunflower oil and beeswax. The formula is free from synthetic chemicals and preservatives and isn't tested on animals. It is also safe to use on silicone toys (yay!) and can be used as a massage oil.

The consistency of this is on the thicker side but once you warm it up it, it becomes a lovely silky smooth texture that doesn't drip everywhere, isn't sticky and is incredibly moisturising. This is great as I struggle with the initial moment of penetration and this lube is slippery enough to help overcome that, plus a little goes a long way!

In addition to this, YES OB does not dry up. I've used it in conjunction with my dilator therapy and when having penetrative sex and never have had to stop to re-apply. As it's a natural product, sometimes the oil solidifies but if you pop it in warm water it will return to it's original texture and actually, using a slightly warm lube can add to the fun! (Just a reminder, oil based lubes are not compatible with condoms as they can break down the latex.)

To conclude, I bloody love this lube; it has a permanent home on my bedside table.
